I have been on an absolutely awesome adventure to the far east with an action-packed tour of Singapore and Hong Kong, as well as New Zealand and Australia. What a trip!
I was there as my best friend Phil’s furry sidekick. You might know Phil as Mister Maker from the CBeebies TV programme. He’s not just famous over here. Kids across the world love him and his show, so we went across the world to help them have fun with arts and crafts.
A super duper special part of the trip was when Phil stood up in front of a huge audience at the Concert Hall at Sydney Opera House. It was so big, I almost got lost, but Phil found me just in time to continue on to our next country.
In Hong Kong, Phil performed at the Academy for Performing Arts, which was also very interesting and exciting.
We’re back home now, which is really nice. I love travelling, but I miss all my friends in Kent schools. It’s good to be around to help them with things like walking to school and reading lots and lots of cool books.
Phil’s official job title is Honorary Patron of the KM Charity Team and I’m their mascot. We’ll both visit a lucky school in a few months’ time. If your school uses either Super Wow – the walk to school scheme – or Buster’s Book Club – the reading scheme, you could meet us.
Phil will read a story to the school winning one of the challenges due to be staged early next year. All you have to do is ask your teacher to sign up here and get reading!
Most schools really get started with the KM Charity Team’s walk to school campaign in October. But I know lots of families who are walking, cycling, using scooters or choosing to ‘park and stride’ to get to school from the very first day of term, which is really, really good!
You could also meet Phil if you submit a book review, so pick your favourite story and get your mum, dad or guardian to enter here. I love to see all my friends reading at school and at home. It’s so much fun!
