Charities have the chance to learn how to connect with supporters, reach new ones, and increase awareness and loyalty – all they need to do is sign up for a social media training course taking place next month.
KM Charity Team chief executive and award-winning journalist Simon Dolby will host an exclusive training session for up to 10 people on Tuesday, December 5. Delegates will be led through the wonderful worlds of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, and discover the benefits each can bring to an organisation.
Topics will include how to set up a social media page; managing and providing content; planning, targeting and nurturing contacts; integrating social media with other campaigning; and measuring impact.
Mr Dolby was a journalist for more than two decades and won a number of regional awards before setting up the KM Charity Team, which is dedicated to improving children’s health and wellbeing.
Mr Dolby said: “Social media is indispensable if you use it well. There are 1.5 billion people on Facebook – and they’re all potential donors, supporters, readers or customers.
“Social media lets you have individual conversations with people in a way that traditional media doesn’t, which means you can forge stronger connections with your supporters and customers.
“People can also share your content on their own social media with their friends and followers – which is the best kind of endorsement.
“Social media isn’t difficult to use, as its popularity shows – and this session is suitable for both absolute beginners who’ve never even seen Facebook, and those with a bit of experience.”
The session will run from 9.30am to 12.30pm at the KM Charity Team offices at 10 Estuary View, Whitstable, with tea and coffee from 9am. Lunch will be provided.
