Would you like to know more about how social media can benefit your charity or business? Then the KM Charity Team has the answers you need at a training session this spring.

The charity’s chief executive, award-winning journalist Simon Dolby, will unravel the mysteries of Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin and teach you how to connect with your supporters, raise your profile and use social media to further your work.

The session will cover the following topics: setting up pages; creating and sharing content; building relationships with your contacts; incorporating social media into your campaigns; and measuring its impact.

The course is suitable for both complete beginners and those who have some experience of social media.

Mr Dolby said: “Social media is a fantastic tool. Facebook has 2.13 billion users, 1.4 billion of whom go on it every day. What other channel can give you that kind of audience?

“People choose who they connect with on social media, so you’re talking to people who you know are interested in your work. They can then share your content with their connections – widening your audience further.

“It also allows you to talk to your customers and supporters individually and strengthen your relationship with them that way.

“Social media is so easy to use – its popularity attests to that. By the end of the session you’ll feel like a member of the Twitterati.”

The course will take place on Tuesday, May 1 from 9.30am to 12.30pm at the KM Charity Team offices at 10 Estuary View, Whitstable. The price includes a sandwich platter lunch and tea and coffee beforehand from 9am.
