Wanted: summer holiday reading snaps

Alexander Catterall, seven, doing some serious extreme reading

My name is Ted and I spend a lot of time hanging out with my best friend Phil Gallagher.

You will know Phil as CBeebies’ Mister Maker, but one thing you might not know is that it takes an awful lot of time to make a TV programme.

They spend hours just getting Phil’s hair right, and then when he is finally ready they film the same things over and over until everything is absolutely perfect.

This means that I have to spend a lot of time hanging around waiting for Phil to finish. So whenever I go to the studio I always make sure I take a good book or two with me. And that means I end up reading in some pretty unusual places ‑ like in Phil’s dressing room or even on the studio stage.

Another little-known thing about making TV shows is that the food is really brilliant: they have these amazing trucks and trailers, from which they serve all this delicious food. They’re a bit like the stalls selling candy floss or burgers at the fairground, only they’ve also got things that your mum might buy for you.

I’m good friends with the people who do the food at the TV studio, and sometimes I sit and read in their food truck.

But what I want to know is where’s the most interesting place you like to read? Do you have a favourite secret spot where you sneak off with a book?

Do you always pack a book with you when you go away? Where is the wildest place you’ve ever read a book on holiday? Are you going anywhere exciting this summer?

We’d love it if you could share with us some pictures of you reading in these weird and wonderful locations, so why not send in some photographic evidence? We’ll post the best ones online.

Make sure you get permission from mum, dad or your guardian first, and submit pictures by clicking on the ‘Enter here!’ button at the bottom of the ‘Friends Forever!’ box on the right.
