Event and Fundraising Officer

Do you have at least three years experience in either marketing, running a community cause or charitable fundraising?
Are you self reliant with excellent presentation and communication skills?
The KM Charity Team is searching for a part-time Event and Fundraising Officer to develop our school based fundraising events and annual dragon boat challenge, which raise funds for a host of Kent causes each year.
The job will be varied with the post holder taking on a variety of fund-raising, event management and media tasks within the organisation – and taking direct responsibility for the KM Dragon Boat Race, Kent Teacher of the Year awards, KM Walk to School Fundraising Challenge and KM Walk to School Song Contest. Presentations form a key part of the role both to potential sponsors and to volunteers to explain the events to stakeholders.
It is essential that you have a good understanding of people and the ability to generate ideas and convince others to gain a positive outcome.
You will have excellent IT skills, able to utilize Excel, word processing, e-mail and internet to support your role.
The successful applicant must have a Criminal Records Bureau check, which the project will organise.

The KM Charity Team is seeking three additional volunteer Trustees to join its Main Board following a review of its governance.
Individuals are required to take on one of the following responsibilities:
The Main Board of the charity meets every two months at its offices in Whitstable and an additional committee meeting is held in east Kent every two months to look at detailed operational issues.
The expected commitment for the new Trustees would be approximately one to two hours of their time per week in this rewarding role.
