A business that stepped in at the last minute to stage the Kent Teacher of the Year awards has been thanked for its support.
Hempstead House Country House Hotel and Spa in Bapchild offered to host the event with just a few days notice after the original venue had to cancel.
Proprietor Mandy Holdstock said it was a pleasure to host the event.
“As a former teacher I know how hard they work and how stressful the job can be at times, especially when dealing with children who have special needs, as some of the winners did.
“Awards like this are very important to the people concerned, many of whom do not receive the recognition they deserve in their day to day life.”
Hempstead House has just been voted the Pevonia best newcomer of the year for its spa.
A number of special events are lined up for the coming months including a Saturday Night Dining event in the Brasserie, launching on July 10 with a free champagne reception at 7pm.
There will also be a free bottle of wine for every table of four and a free glass of wine for every table of two.
Other events are a Wedding Open Day on July 18 and Murder Mystery Evening in October.
