Primary school pupils from across Kent hit the right note with their entries in the Walk to School Christmas No 1 competition.
Finalists have been selected from Birchington Primary, St Saviour’s in Westgate, Leybourne St Peter and St Paul, St John’s in Gravesend and Swalecliffe Community Primary.
They will get the chance to make a professional recording of their version of the I’m Gonna Be (500 miles) song by The Proclaimers along with another track.
The competition was been organised by the walk to school department of the KM Charity Team in association with Independent Music Productions in Canterbury.
Walk to School project officer Katie McDaniel said: “We were very impressed with the high standard of the entries and creative interpretations.
“Kent schools really have got talent.”
Singers from the school will be invited to IMP’s studio to professionally record two songs and these will be available to download for £1 from this site, with money raised going to charity.
The track with the most sales will be announced on Christmas Day and the school or group that earns the No.1 chart position will receive a free VIP framed version of the single.
