Gillingham Football Club – Kent’s only league ground. Founded in 1893, it took Gillingham 107 years to recognise the dream of Division 1 Football, beating Wigan Athletic 3-2 at Wembley to win the 2000 Division 2 Play-Off Final. Although dreams do not always come true, the Gills, now playing in Coca Cola League One (formerly Division 2), have a bright future. Their home, KRBS Priestfield, is now barely recognisable from 1995, boasting three new stands which have transformed the face of Kent’s only League ground. The stadium is now an all-seater arena with a temporary stand at the Gillingham end of the ground. The Medway Stand, completed in 2000, offers magnificent facilities for players and supporters alike. www.gillinghamfootballclub.com
