Become the county’s culinary master
Catering students across the south east have the opportunity to showcase their skills annually with Young Cooks: The Professionals.
A natural spin-off to the KM Charity Team’s well-established Young Cooks competition, The Professionals is an inter-college challenge in which young chefs excelling at their craft can be elected to take part.
Engaging their knowledge of food and flavour, competitors enrol in a Masterchef-style contest which will judge techniques, seasonality, budget, presentation and of course, taste.
Students have 2.5 hours to create two complimentary dishes.
Young Cooks: The Professionals enables young people to reap the benefits of hands-on cooking in an active kitchen, in which attention to detail and timing is critical.
Much like its sister event, the competition also embraces the usage of fresh, local produce; something the judges greatly admire.
