Nothing Wishee Washee about Me

KM Charity Team Honorary Patron Phil Gallagher and charity mascot Ted with Simon Dolby, KM Charity Team Chief Executive.

Phil is now KM Charity Team Honorary Patron. We met up with Simon Dolby from the charity this week. Can you see me in the middle?

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name’s Ted and I’m going to tell you all about my intrepid adventures with my best buddy Phil.

We’ve travelled all the way to Canterbury in Kent because that’s where Phil is starring in panto. He’s playing the part of Wishee Washee in Aladdin at the Marlowe Theatre. If you’re coming to the show don’t forget to say hello!

You might recognise Phil – he’s Mister Maker from off the telly and he’s lots of fun. We do everything together whether it’s making things, walking to school, travelling to far off countries or reading a good story.

Phil is really happy because he’s been asked to be an Honorary Patron of the KM Charity Team. This means he’s got the very important job of telling everyone all about the charity and the amazing things they do. I’ve agreed to be the charity’s mascot so I’m even more important.

Me reading Phil’s script for Aladdin. I dreamed up some ad-libs, of course.

The charity is only down the road from Canterbury so we dropped in on the team to surprise them and have a chat. I found out lots of cool stuff.

Did you know the KM Charity Team sets up walking buses for schools and has a brand new reading club called Buster’s Book Club? Children who walk to school as often as they can or who spend lots of time reading at home can win stickers and fantastic prizes.

After that it was time to get back to work. At the moment I’m helping Phil to learn his lines for the panto. Honestly, I don’t know how he’d manage without me. Is it naughty that I tell the audience to shout out to Phil when he‘s on stage? I’m sure he doesn’t mind and it is very funny.

Everyone’s loved the panto so far – oh yes they have!
