Voluntary organisations now have less than four weeks in which to submit applications to become KM Group charities of the year in 2020.
The selected good causes will be championed by the editors of the group’s newspapers, KMTV, kmfm and KentOnline, and also be supported by the KM Charity Team via its collaborative fundraising events such as the KM Big Bike Ride, the KM Colour Run and Buster’s Charity Firewalk.
The deadline for submitting applications is October 27, and charity of the year status runs for the calendar year ‑ from January to December.
Acting KM Charity Team manager Karen Brinkman urged charities to send in applications now.
She said: “KM charity of the year status is such a valuable resource for any charity.
“The KM Group’s papers and journalists are embedded in the community, and partnering with them opens the door to so many potential supporters, fundraisers and beneficiaries.
“And the online charity of the year application process is easy to complete, with no restrictions on size or area of practice.
“So I would urge charities, voluntary groups and organisations such as PTAs to complete and submit applications before the October 27 deadline.”
Each of the KM Group’s nine news-desks will choose their own charity of the year, and KMTV, kmfm and KentOline will select one between them.
