World bark day

St Edward’s pupils in their World Book Day costumes

Who’s the best character in any story ever?

Winnie the Pooh? Not quite.

Baloo from the Jungle Book? Almost.

Baby Bear in Goldilocks and the Three Bears? You’re getting very, very warm.

Bryn the dog is in the front row for World Book Day story-time at St Edward’s Catholic Primary

Paddington Bear? Correct answer ‑ and the children at St Edward’s Catholic Primary School in Sheerness have the photos to prove it.

I can’t see Wizard Whitebeard, Wenda or Odlaw but I do know where Wally is.

Bryn the dog enjoys a good read on World Book Day 2020

And is that Woof? No! It’s school dog Bryn in a wicked Paddington costume.

And check out the amazing Oompa Loompa from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

My friend Buster Bug also ‘dressed up’ as a Roald Dahl character for World Book Day.

‘What do you think of my wicked World Book Day costume?’ he asked me when I saw him.

‘Um, what costume, Buster?’

‘I’m the Grasshopper from James and the Giant Peach.’

‘But you are a grasshopper, Buster, aren’t you? That’s not dressing up.’ Buster didn’t have much to say to that.
