Event and programme conditions of participation
The conditions relating to attendance at KM Charity Events and Programmes are listed on this page. Simply scroll down to the section relevant. If you have any questions relating to events or programmes please click here for our contact information.
If you are participating in one of our events on behalf of a charity, the charity will have access to your personal details.
Please note that the below are our standard terms and conditions but every participant will be sent current indemnity information on registering for an event or programme that will reflect any changes to the below – especially in respect to legal social distancing measures.
Abseil conditions of participation
Adults taking part in an abseil event or booking on behalf of a teenage participant must tick the indemnity box in the KM Charity Team’s e-shop to complete the booking. In so doing the adult making the booking is agreeing to the following conditions.
“I confirm that I wish to enter the abseil which is organised by KM Charity Team in aid of my chosen charity and understand that I do so at my own risk and that the KM Charity Team/KM Charity Challenge (and any of its group companies and any of their agents or employees) do not accept liability for any injury or loss that may occur as a result of my participation other than as a result of external supplier negligence. I agree that I will seek medical advice should be sought from a general practitioner if I am in any doubt as to the physical ability to participate in the event.
I consent that photographs taken during the Abseil may be used to publicise other abseil events and the work of KM Charity Team or external suppliers. I acknowledge that an external supplier is running the abseil independently of KM Charity Team/Km Charity Challenge.

I confirm I am aware that KM Charity Team (and any of its group companies and any of their agents or employees) do not have any responsibility for the equipment supplied, the personnel used by external suppliers, the instruction and supervision supplied or any safety procedures.”
No refunds are permissible on our events as cancellations significantly reduce the opportunities for KM Charity Team to offer places to other potential attendees. This does not remove your statutory rights to cancel within 14 days of an online purchase. Note: No refunds will be given two weeks immediately prior to an event as this does not give the charity time to re-sell tickets to other clients.
This condition has been amended due to the current situation and should the event not take place on the advertised date participants will be offered a full refund or automatically transferred to the re-scheduled date.
Discount codes are occasionally made available to encourage the public to sign up to an event. Discount codes cannot be used retrospectively and must be used at the time of purchase.
Note: A special parental consent form must also be completed by the parent or guardian of all U18s taking part.
Big Quiz conditions
Participants at KM Big Quiz events must observe the following conditions: to behave in a responsibility and courteous manner to other teams and staff at events; not to bring their own drinks – we have a charity bar to supply those needs; not to use any mobile technology or traditional means to gain an unfair advantage over rival quiz teams; not to have more than eight people in a team; to agree that the official adjudicator’s decision is final and binding in all circumstances.

This does not remove your statutory rights to cancel within 14 days of an online purchase. Charity Walk conditions
I confirm that I wish to take part in the KM Charity Walk which is a country walk organised by KM Charity Team and understand that I do so at my own risk and that the KM Charity Team (and any of its group companies and any of their agents or employees) do not accept liability for any injury or loss that may occur as a result of my participation.
I agree that I will seek medical advice from a general practitioner if I am in any doubt as to the physical ability to participate in the event.
I understand and agree that I participate in this event at my own risk, that must rely on my own ability in dealing with all hazards such as stiles and road crossings. I am aware that when walking on a public highway the function of the marshals is only to indicate direction and that I must decide if the movement is safe.

Colour Run conditions
Adults taking part in the assault course/colour run challenge event or booking on behalf of a teenage participant must tick the indemnity box in the KM Charity Team’s e-shop to complete the booking. In so doing the adult making the booking is agreeing to the following conditions.
“I confirm that I wish to enter the assault course/colour run challenge which is organised by KM Charity Team in aid of my chosen charity and understand that I do so at my own risk and that the KM Charity Team/KM Charity Challenge (and any of its group companies and any of their agents or employees) do not accept liability for any injury or loss that may occur as a result of my participation other than as a result of Betteshanger Country Park negligence. I agree that medical advice should be sought from a general practitioner if I am in any doubt as to the physical ability to participate in the event.
I consent that photographs taken during the assault course challenge may be used to publicise other abseil events and the work of KM Charity Team or Betteshanger Country Park generally. I acknowledge that Betteshanger Country Park is running the event independently of KM Charity Team/KM Charity Challenge.
I confirm I am aware that KM Charity Team (and any of its group companies and any of their agents or employees) do not have any responsibility for the equipment supplied, the personnel used by Betteshanger Country Park, the instruction and supervision supplied or any safety procedures.”

KM Big Bike Ride conditions
Due to insurance purposes, this ride is not open to anyone under the age of 12. Riders aged 12-17 must be accompanied by an adult with a ratio of one adult for every child aged 12-17. Adults taking part in the event or booking on behalf of a young person participant must tick the indemnity box in the KM Charity Team’s e-shop to complete the booking. In so doing the adult making the booking is agreeing to the following conditions:
“I confirm that I wish to ride in the KM Big Bike Ride which is organised by KM Charity Team and understand that I do so at my own risk and that the KM Charity Team (and any of its group companies and any of their agents or employees) do not accept liability for any injury or loss that may occur as a result of my participation. I agree that I will seek medical advice from a general practitioner if I am in any doubt as to the physical ability to participate in the event
I understand and agree that I participate in this event at my own risk, that I must rely on my own ability in dealing with all hazards and that I must ride in a manner which is safe for myself and all others.
I am aware that when riding in an event and particularly when riding on a public highway the function of the marshals is only to indicate direction and that I must decide if the movement is safe.
I agree that no liability whatsoever shall be attached to the promoter, promoting club, meeting sponsor(s) or member of the promoting club in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by me on or by reason of the event, however caused.
I agree to wear a cycling helmet for the entire duration of the ride. I accept that if I do not follow this requirement and suffer a head injury as a result – I will not hold the organisers of the event liable for any injuries that I may suffer.
I consent that photographs taken during the ride may be used to publicise other events and the work of KM Charity Team.”

Awards ceremonies and group events
Buster’s Big Bash
I understand and agree that whilst every effort is made to make the event as safe and family friendly as possible, I participate in this event at my own risk, that I must rely on my own ability in dealing with any hazards and that I must participate in a manner which is safe for myself and all others. I am responsible for my children and those in my care.
I consent that photographs taken during Buster’s Big Bash may be used to publicise other events and the work of KM Charity Team. If I prefer not to have photographs made public, I will make a member of the KM Charity Team aware.
Points to note:
- We have a check-in area in case you need assistance, which is also an official meeting point. Be aware of your surroundings and keep an eye on children.
- Look after your belongings – make sure you keep your mobile, smart devices and wallet/purse safe and out of sight. If you find any items, please hand them in at check-in or to a KM Charity Team member. If you lose an item, please inquire at check-in about lost items. If you notice any unattended bags/luggage items please do not move these and instead contact a member of the KM Charity Team.
- We recommend activating the ‘find my phone’ app or similar on your smart phone before coming to the event.
- If it is hot please make sure you remain hydrated.
- Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather. We recommend using sun protection if it is sunny, staying in the shade during the hottest part of the day and waterproof coats if the weather is rainy.
- If you see anything that concerns you or if you see anyone acting suspiciously please speak to the nearest KM Charity team member – help us make Buster’s Big Bash a safe and pleasant place to be.
- There will be first aiders on hand during the event.
Buster’s Big Festive Rerun
By registering to participate in Buster’s Big Festive Rerun you agree to run and manage your own event, making sure that it is safe and follows all relevant government guidelines at the time of the event. The KM Charity Team or any of its associated companies takes no responsibility for the events you hold.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all money raised for a charity of your choice is submitted to the KM Charity Team for distribution – this MUST be done electronically through your fundraising page.
The prize draw will take place in August and winning participants, picked at random, will be informed by email. Responses and delivery details must be received within one week of receipt of notification or another winner will be picked at random. No KM Charity Team employee or associate is eligible to participate in the prize draw.
We will only use your contact details in connection with Buster’s Big Festive Rerun and will not keep or distribute your information to any third party after the event without your express permission.
