Green Champion

Become a Green Champion

Feedback form

Green ChampionPupils and adults taking on projects or initiatives to promote walk to school or environmental topics can earn the status of Green Champions.

To become a Green Champion, a group of pupils, such as a school council or eco-committee, should lead an activity that promotes green travel to their school or alternatively an eco or recycling project. The best initiatives will earn every child involved a limited edition Green Champion T-shirt and have the chance to be recognised through the annual Green School Awards.

Adults connected to their school community can also earn the status of Green Champion by fulfilling simple criteria detailed in the separate adult briefing sheet. This is appropriate for teaching staff, support staff or governors.

Suggested activities for the children’s version of the scheme include: designing a poster to promote green travel, writing a letter to parents to promote green travel; conducting a travel survey, staging a green travel presentation to parents or an assembly.
