The KM Charity Team is proud to be involved in road safety initiatives across the South East.
Our road safety initiatives aim to:
- educate children and their families about road safety in order to reduce traffic accidents and fatalities now, but also as those children grow into adults. This legacy will be passed onto their children in years to come.
- create a shift from journeys to school by car to journeys by foot or other green travel (eg; bicycle, scooter, park and stride) and therefore tackle the rising levels of carbon emissions produced by these often unnecessary car journeys.
- reduce traffic and road congestion at peak school run hours and therefore tackle the rise in road safety incidents caused by traffic congestion at school drop off/collection.
- encourage school participation into road safety initiatives through our Road Safety Champions programme.
The KM Charity Team Road Safety skills initiative aims to improve the road safety awareness of all participating school children. Our primary objective is community safety by making our roads safer, our air cleaner, and by making our future generations less reliant on car journeys.
